Anybody else a basketball coach in real life? Just curious.

I coach Girls High School Varsity Basketball in Huntington Beach, CA. (and my son's basketball and flag football teams)

A little different, but I coached a junior wheelchair basketball team in Indiana for years. In our best year, we finished third at the National Tournament.

I coached 4th graders for a couple years back in high school. Would if of continued if uni wasn’t taking up all my time.

Been coaching for about 7 years now. Currently coaching Novice level HS girls.

Fun aside: I ranked my players using the attributes we use: ATH,SPD, REB, DEF, etc. for my last year's team! Great exercise and it allowed me to focus on each of my player's skill improvement. So there is some real life application to this madness. Now I just have to convince the AD that I can write-off my monthly $...

Not coaching but I officiated intramural basketball in college. I'm considering getting into officiating youth basketball but the training for it is ridiculous in Ohio!

I know a guy that can get that ball rollin if you are interested. It would help make the process quick and easy.

But if you've already looked into the training, maybe you've already taken the first couple steps

I actually coach a 5th grade travel team, just finished wrapping up practice an hour ago.

Fun fact: I drive past one of the HD schools that I coach every morning on my way to my real job.

I helped coached a 6th grade basketball team for 2 years in Louisville, Ky. We won the Christmas tournament my second year. One of the coolest feelings ever. Below is my team Avg if translated to WIS 6th grade league.

I coach middle school varsity level in Kentucky for 3 years now.

I was a manager for the school I coach- Colorado and coached some youth travel. Was thinking about going down the coaching path for a while, but it's really tough to make it big in the industry as I'm sure a lot of you know

I coached 7 years.

I coached 8th & 9th grade basketball for two years and would have kept doing it but they cancelled the 10th/11th/12th grade league when it was time for my brother (the reason I was coaching) to move up to that league lol.

I coached High School basketball for 20 years. I am now the Athletic Director.

seems like a lifetime ago, but back in the days of video tape I peaked with three years as an assistant at a couple high D1 programs.
