I recently had 1 DiTR and it was a 22 y/o Def C I drafted this season that I moved way up on my draft board to about the mid 100's just to have a Def C in my system. I went back to my Draft Prospects list to see what his original projections were just out of curiosity, and noticed that his pre-draft projections are completely different and I assume reflect his DiTR status.

Has anyone noticed this before?

Draft ratings are based on your scouting budget. Anything after that is based on your advanced scouting budget.

I get that. But you can always go back after the draft and look at your Draft Prospect rankings which are still based on your scouting budget and do not change after the draft. In this instance, since he was a DiTR, his pre-draft projections DID change. I got him in the 13th Rd and what I see now for his draft projections he would have been a 1st Rd pick.

Yes! I had this happen both this season and the last. The draft ratings we're significantly higher both times (from pre DITR to Post) , and they we're different from my advanced scout ratings on the players post DITR.

For Instance, my Drafted DITR pitcher this year is projected 85/82/88 Control/RHP/P1 in the draft screen now, and 75/80/96 on Advanced Scouting. It makes me wonder if the updated draft scouting can be trusted (depending on how much $$ you have in it), but I'm very interested to follow both my guys here on out. I have to imagine that even with perfect scouting the numbers on the draft might be skewed up, but I guess we'll see. I'd be interested to see if anybody with 20 Adv/20 col/HS has had this happen and how close the ratings are for them.

I have never experienced any thing like you say. I am confident that once the draft is over the rating automatically default to the advance scouting.

If you have a team that’s had the DITR day pass this season, take a look back at the “Amatuer Draft Prospects” and see if there’s a player or two ranked pretty low but with high projections. I have a 84 & 79 overall player that are ranked low on my ratings because they ended up becoming DITRs and boosting their inital draft scouted ratings.

Maybe it was because of their DITR boost that their pre-draft ratings became inflated. Remember, it is computer code.

Yes. In fact, I had an eighteen year old rookie get ditr when I had 20 million in hs scouting. I took a screenshot of the projections from that year. You're right, if a player is drafted and gets ditr in his first year, his draft projections will change. And I would bet if your draft scouting is higher than advanced scouting, it is a better picture of what the player will end up.

Thanks tlowster, that is kind of what I was thinking but wasn't sure what the overall thought on it was!

Same thing just happened with this guy - drafted him with specific hopes that he would get DITR. I think he might be the best DITR I have gotten in my twelve seasons. Not the best I have seen in these forums, but he looks quite promising.

Very nice one!

What ratings do you think he’ll eventually get to?

What were his ratings before the bump?

Since he was 18, and I had nearly full hs prospect budget money, it updated his ratings as soon as ditr hit.

Before the ditr, he was going to be one of those mlb pitchers with low splits, low stamina, but good enough pitches to still not get hammered at the mlb level. Now, the projections are for him to have high 70, low 80 splits and all 4 pitches above 86. Also, his stamina should turn him into a tweener (could use as a starter or a reliever). I will probably have him as a setupA or LRA.
