You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You were too scared to let me in. I was going to put a whoopin' on y'all, and you put your tails between your legs and ditched me for an easier matchup.

What a joke.

Some heavy stuff came up in my life and I just didn't have time for gaming, and knowing that I had already built my teams I was just waiting to enter them until the deadline. Had it set on my calendar. Got up first thing this morning and started right up the line with the $70 million team only to be told the league doesn't exist. Then I come here and see all of this drama.

The deadline hasn't passed and my teams are built and ready to go and have been almost two months, so if you'd rather face the guy who actually earned his way in he's right here waiting, no excuses.

I’m clearly missing something here, but the deadline was December 2nd. Initially it was in late November.

You're not...bothways was under the mistaken impression that only the December 16 deadline mattered. I feel bad for him, but it is his own fault that he did not carefully read the WIS topic about Deadlines, or respond to ozomatli's sitemail or just have some teams entered early (since he claims he finished a couple a while ago and had them ready to go).

If he was able to put himself in the commissioner's shoes (ozomatli), he would understand why he had to make the decision he did. The December 2 deadline is there to make sure there is an adequate time for a replacement to be found and enter their teams if someone goes MIA. If ozomatli had decided to wait on bothways and bothways actually was nowhere to be found, that screws over everyone else because the tournament is held up and delayed while a replacement has to try and create 6 teams on the fly. It also isn't fair to the replacement that had to be found(in this case ejstockman) that bothways was MIA for a while and then came back and demanded that he get his spot back. At least he did offer to reimburse him for a 6 pack, but I would categorize this as a debacle that could have been easily avoided.

ahhh, the tournament wasn't delayed. what kind of fictional world do all of you live in? what in the world is wrong with all of you? it's like a cult of people with no life. I'm happy to be done with this.

Right, just continue to move the goal posts to wherever you need to keep those out who you'd rather not face in the championship. bunch of punks.

Try and remember that ozomatli as Commissioner has to make decisions with imperfect information. You know what's going on with your life...but he doesn't. That's why communication is essential - otherwise, he has to make the best decision he can with the information available to him. You knew you were going to get all of your teams in by December 16, but he did not. The information available to him was you did not enter in any teams, you did not reply to any sitemails, or give any other indication that you were around. The most likely conclusion that could be drawn was something came up and you were now too busy to be able to participate. If he does not choose to replace you after you missed the first deadline and the likely conclusion turns out to be correct, the tournament would have been delayed. As it turns out, everything would have been fine if ozomatli didn't replace you with ejstockman. However, he had no way of knowing that and he took the safe choice to ensure the tournament started on time (and not relied on you showing up by December 16). And yes, people have said before they would participate and then no-showed. ozomatli had every reason to be concerned.
