I scroll through the list of potential new leagues and it really amazes me at the sheer number of 255 mil and other high cap leagues...I havent been here very long, but I dont understand the attraction of these leagues...Is it really that much of a challenge to your managing skills to trot out a Ruth, Gehrig, Williams, Joss,et al, at every turn?...In these low cap leagues, the drafting of a roster is a tremendous challenge and one of the most interesting aspects of this site...Trying to draft enough innings or at bats with an even balance of 20,000,000 for both entities is a great aspect to the game...Once the season starts, trying to navigate through a season with most of your pitchers under 80% or most of your hitters battling fatigue is the ultimate challenge that lends itself to maneuvers that test your ability as a manager to wade through your season...It really requires monitoring on a game to game basis...Maybe, you don’t have the time for this tinkering-That is quite understandable...But, To me, it really magnifies the the nuances of the game, the pitching slots, aggressive base running, defensive substitutes, playing subs out of position, etc...While I’m sure that high caps have their own managerial intricacies, I am so much more “proud and intrigued” when I discover a new and hardly used player that I’ve never heard of, and watch him prosper through the season than watching Ruth swat 90 homers in Coors field...Not knocking anyone, but if you’ve never tried a 40 mil or other low cap league, give it a whirl...You may just find your cleats stuck in the mud there...
