We've noticed at least one team that has been able to go over the salary cap (by a small amount) -- how does this happen? It looks like it might have been the result of promotions.

What stage of the season did it happen? Arbitration maybe? If so, probably due to automatic raises due to arbitration cases.

Eventually the AI will start pulling money from other places automatically in increments of $1M until the payroll is under the cap. Prospect Payroll, Coach, Scouting Budgets etc.
