Forum Draft Sequence - ABABBABABA. A 1-24. B 24-1. Rounds 9 + 10... two selections per round. Prescheduled 30 minute player selection intervals, 1 selection/day rounds#1- 8 and 2 selections/day rounds# 9 -10
Random Draft Order: Random Draw (by random.org) you feeling lucky punk!
Random Division Assignment: Before the draft begins, divisions will be chosen using Random.org, assigned and posted. Division assignments may not be traded.
Era: 1989-90 to 1998-99 (changes each DDL)
Available player pool: WIS player seasons: 1989-90 thru 1998-99 (set your filter).
Required minimum team minutes >19,680 minutes
Salary Cap...Unlimited $$$ (build your beast)

***Notice - In this league the draft is scheduled in 30 minute intervals. You, or a proxy, may make your selection at any time during your scheduled interval. Picks outside your scheduled interval are not valid. Missed interval - a player selection may be made after the last scheduled interval for that round/day and before the next rounds first scheduled interval.
The draft listing will be updated at the end of each round.
It is the team owners responsibility to know if a player is unavailable. Using the draft listing and the "Find in Page" function is quick and works well. (right hand corner, 3 dot pull-down menu)

When they have Ice-capades, a TastyFreez and a hockey franchise in Hell. lmao. How do you like the new approach to drafting...bet owners learn to pick or proxy PDQ. I figured I could kill a half dozen birds with one looooong post. So instead of trying to explain what I thought the DDL needed after 6 years, in a sitemail or ten, I would simple post it in the classifieds for DDL#20 sign-up that way you and everybody thats interested can comment with the whole revision laid out for you to review. I think this revision would be a lot of fun...cut some fat off the teams and the bullshit out of the draft. With this draft structure its about snuggling up to those salary limits each round and maximizing available funding. If you don't do your GM work, you could easily lose millions in team value. Resulting in a weaker team, lessening your chances of winning. The opposite is true also, the owner who maximizes the funds will build a strong and stronger team as the rounds progress. Could be interest to watch it unfold. At least the revisions to drafting make your commissioners job less chaotic and cuts down on the redundancy.. .lol..GL. ps..this is how the DDL was designed the first time...by a consensusl

I am not a fan of the changes but if it causes more people to sign up faster I am all for it. I think the problem with slow sign ups has nothing to do with this league but more to do with the fact that the owner pool is so small and people are leaving the sim all the time.

Personally, I agree with those saying they liked the draft how it was.

I think the struggles of getting people to sign up and stay engaged was more so the fact that we landed on the 70's, which has always sort of a lost era in the history of the NBA. It's 40+ years ago, not much footage exists from that era, we didn't have the typical dynasties and/or rivalries, not as many household names, etc

I'm in no matter how you want to run the league, however. Love the DDL.

This is not etched in stone, it's here for discussion. If the consensus is to keep the DDL as is..that's what we'll do. The commissioner has veto power anyway..its his league to run as he see's fit. Anything I say should be viewed as a suggestion only. The salary structure is really what's up for discussion. I'm good either way. I like the original edition, and think the revision looks like an interesting twist to a great league. It's possible I'm starting the ground work for a new league somewhere down the road. That way I'll have 2 leagues to play cyberball in....lol

I was fine with the rules from the 70s draft. The 90s should be even better since most if not all users know way more 90s players than 70s players.

I Agree with cmcafeeky comments. Don't see a reason to change.

My big issue with the 70s league was trying to figure out who had been drafted- way too time consuming.

To that end, I would volunteer to maintain a page 1 alpha board which I can keep updated since I have the time. Alpha much easier the the 3 dot "find" thing.
