if you’ve offered someone a max contract(10 mill bonus, 20 mill a year for 5 years, no trade clause ad player option) and they tell you that they have a better offer and to give more money, does that mean you should withdraw offer and pursue other FAs? Trying to figure this out before the best players all sign elsewhere. Thanks in advance for the help/opinions

1) That's not a max contract. Unless requested, the NT clause does nothing except restrict your future options.

2) Have the respective coaches all signed? See this thread for some background.

Thanks for that link! All of those coaches have indeed signed, I think I’m out of luck aren’t I?

If the relevant coaches have all signed, then the tiebreakers won't change again. The only benefit of keeping the $110M "tied up" is if you think the other owner may try to lower the bid, in order to land the player for less than max and pick up something else in addition. It doesn't happen often (usually the Max Deal player is good enough that it's not worth risking him to save a couple million) but it's possible.

If the other owner keeps the Max Deal that is viewed as better than yours active, you can't change the player's mind.

Sounds like a long shot, gonna cut my losses and find somewhere else to spend my 32 mill. Thanks for the help!
