No more TOC advantage leagues vs Open League Topic

I have played in TOC advantage leagues and I have made it to the TOC with a few teams. It is a big advantage over open league teams. In my opinion it is time to have a TOC only for open league teams. For the most part it is a small group of veteran players who are gaming the system.

Look at what I get:
I create a TOC advantage league (one free team)
Make it to the playoffs (get reward points)
Make the WS in TOC advantage (in the TOC against 80m teams)
Win TOC WS. (another free team)
Win TOC with a 20m extra payroll (more reward points/credits)

This is why a handful of players are ending up with a disproportionate share of rewards points. I think it is hurting the new players who do not know how to game the system. It is also hurting veteran players who want to participate on a level playing field.

My proposal.
Go to a 16 team TOC
80m Open League would have its own TOC.
The reward points would be cut in half from what they are now.

Agreed but I highly doubt the one admin/staff left, Seble, has either the authority or will to make any changes to the game as it is now. The only game adjustment we had, dynamic salaries, went out the window after SportsHub took over, now all that's being updated is the yearly new players.

To be fair, open league teams can and do win the 100M TOC. I’ve seen redsox6666 do it, I’ve done it myself and others have as well.

If TOCs were to be broken up, a more impactful change would be separating progressive teams from open and theme league teams. Progressive teams have very little chance to finish in the money, let alone win, against almost any theme or open league team.

Maybe don’t have over $10,000,000 in AAA on your roster? There’s a $90 mil TOC iirc. I see no problem. Newbs have to learn eventually.

OLs do _not_ need their own TOC....

Agree w/ contrarian and ozomatli. I've won 2 TOC's w/ OL teams (one last week) and prefer to compete against better teams. The differences among $80MM, $90MM and $100MM teams may be large over time but are much less insurmountable in a 5- or 7-game series. Pitching is a great equalizer and if you can keep your best pitchers in play for the money rounds, you can shut down virtually any cap level. And to ozomatli's point, progressive teams are at a much greater disadvantage in TOC's than OL teams.

Hopefully if/when this game gets an update, they will separate themes, progressives and open leagues into their own TOC's. ..progressives are the ones getting screwed the most by the current setup. Guys play 50 or more seasons with no hope of winning a tourney....

Get rid of cash prizes. If you want to have fun, play this inexpensive game. If you want money get a job, they pay better than mastering the sim..

I play exclusively progs, and the furthest I've taken any prog team in the TOC is the final four.
