I'm Newberry.
We shot .521, they shot .435
We were 5/11 from 3, they were 5/16
We had 23 personal fouls called on us, they had 29.

They gained ground on . . .
We had 9 steals, they had 13.
We were 22/36 on free throws, they were 23/32 (they shot FT better .719 to .611)
We had 22 turnovers, they had 18.
We had 34 rebounds, they had 39.

Ultimately, it was the 64-48 advantage on field goal attempts that sealed our doom.

I'm aware - that's the way the RNG rolls sometimes. I just thought this was an interesting boxscore of a loss.

Oh, and don't promise a non-dominant recruit a starting spot and 20 minutes to keep from losing him. His 8 turnovers and low IQ probably equalled more than -7 points.

I personally never promise more than 15 min. 15 min gets you to "very good" on the pref list if he wants to play., I'm not sure the program is that advanced that it can detect a 20 or 25 min promise over the 15 since you are already maxed at "very good."

You're definitely right, he was just taking forever to drop down. It won't happen again.

So, you haven’t upped a promise of minutes and noticed a difference? Maybe it was SSS, but I have

Kev - I always count # of possessions on box scores like that. They had 11 more possessions, which is a lot to overcome. One reason why FCP is so overpowered in DII/DIII.

20 is definitely better than 15, and 25 is definitely better than 20. It’s not insignificant. In the same way being 5 miles away from a recruit is a bit better than 150 miles away if he wants to play close to home, even if the match is very good in both cases.
