I’ve had my eye on Glasnow for months, but now that they’re keeping him on a low pitch count it’s going to hamper his ability to be a full season reliever/postseason elimination starter in the sim. He’s pitching 2-3 innings per start since he came back, but man it’s nice to see him healthy - he’s a joy to watch.
In the Verlander vein, Josh Hader has allowed 21 runs...and 14 homers. 0.79 whip and 134 k’s in 73 ip...yet completely unusable in sim.
Someone else mentioned his his months ago but before Matt Shoemaker blew out his knee he made 5 starts, 28.2 ip with a 0.87 whip, .163 oav and 3 hr allowed, which should be ok hr/9#
others - Sean manaea needs a few more innings to hit the minimums but I think he’ll be conserved for the wild card game next week. He’s at 23.2 ip with a 0.80 whip and 3 hr allowed. If I had to guess I think the guy I’m most likely to use is JB Wendelken (never heard of him before this week) - 32.1 ip, 0.93 whip, 2 homers, and 1.25 ip/g which I like. He should be ~1mm in sim.
Completely forgot about Shoe-by. And Manaea goes against the Mariners tonight!
One player I’m cautiously optimistic about is Kyle Tucker.
He recently crossed the 50 AB threshold, he’s batting .304 with 6 doubles, 3 homers, and 5 SB w/o getting caught
So I’d say he’d be at a 121 AVG+, 10 2B/100AB#, and 4 HR/100AB#. Decent pinch hitter. Hope he doesn’t ruin it in the last 4 games of the year, but it’ll be against Angels pitching at the very least.
