Many experienced owners don't even use one closer. So two would be crazy.

Ok tx why don't they use closrr

They want their best relievers throwing the max amount of meaningful innings that they can get out of them. Coming in to get 3 outs with no one on and a 3 run lead in the 9th isn't exactly a pressure situation and would be a better spot for one of your lesser relievers. Personally, I would rather have my best reliever come in with a tied ball game in the 7th than a 3 run lead in the 9th.

What do you put on them la or setupa

When do I use tandem

Put your best relievers at setup A. There are some good threads about tandems that I will try to bump for you.

I use a closer but also check the box in the manager settings screen that lets the closer come in when the game is tied. Closers in save situations only will pitch 35-50 inniings a year. From my experience, letting him come in with the game tied as well will add another 15-20 innings per season depending on his Dur/Stam ratings.

Using a closer is a complete waste of quality innings.

Purley anecdotal but I noticed a considerable turn arround when I acquired and made this guy my closer. Could just be the effect of having another quality arm in the pen though. As a rule of thumb I don't use relivers who are capable of pitching 60+ innings as closers.

I can't remember exactly who it was, but I do remember reading on here at one point that someone suggested using your 3rd best RP as a closer, so that your top to options come in when you need them most and that you also have someone solid available to shut the door when necessary. Once I read that, I started using it and have gotten decidedly better results than I had previously. So, FWIW, if you really want to use a closer that's the way I'd suggest you do it.

Dude can only pitch 35 innings a season anyways. Honestly I wouldn't use a roster spot for him.

This is the way I do it - IF you're going to use a closer, use a pitcher who really wouldn't be good at anything else. Maybe he can't throw a lot of innings, or he has only one good pitch, or maybe even a guy who totally failed in high leverage innings. All he has to do is get three outs, and there's no such thing in this game as whether he's got guts or grit or attitude.
