Do you guys remember the good ole days back when WIS Phelan was just like any other WIS College Hoops world? Back when the there were Power 5 conferences loaded with talent and the Final Four was loaded with SEC, ACC, or (insert other power conferences here). Fifteen to twenty top 25 teams were from one of those conferences every year. Mid major conferences were top heavy and would put one or two teams into the NCAA Tourney just to be bludgeoned by a Power 5 team in the first two rounds. They’d maybe sneak into the top 25 but just getting votes was an accomplishment. Small conferences put their conference tournament winner into the NCAA tourney to be a Power 5’s warm up before running into another Power 5 team.
Do you guys in Phelan remember the good ole days when only the blue blood programs had A and A+ team prestiges? When all a Power 5 team had to do was throw their name in the bucket in recruiting to run off lesser conference teams and sign whoever they wanted?
Aww the good ole days! Those were nice right? Do you Phelan Power 5 coaches remember those days? Those good ole days!
I hope you do! Memories like that are precious! You guys should hold onto those Good Ole Days! Hold onto those memories as tight as Rose held onto Jack and treasure those moments!
Why should you treasure those moments you ask?... Easy answer! Remember the good ole days and hold onto them ever so tightly because as we saw with Rose and Jack, eventually the good ole days end, Rose has to let go, Jack turns to an ice cube, and sinks to the bottom of the ocean and becomes fish food (Poor Leo). Do you guys see where I’m going with this?
You Power 5 conferences in Phelan... you’re Rose and Jack! You will always remember the good ole days but now you’re either old wrinkly Rose or frozen dead Jackie Boy fish food!
Meanwhile, the A10 is the equivalent of a freakin Disney Cruise! Still sailing! Gaining steam! And taking over the Phelan seas! 4 top 25 teams and 2 more getting votes in the preseason! 3 Final Fours in a row! And all you Power 5 guys can do is watch as you sink into the abyss that will soon be run by the A10, the real Power Conference!
But I don’t want to ruin it for you... Just keep remembering the good ole days, Jack!
