Dah's comment points out the inherent flaw in the WIS algorithm determining ALL aspects of the pitcher/batter encounter.
In REAL baseball, LOB matters! Bigly. The ability to perform in the "clutch" IS what separates the great from the good.
We have all sorts of debates about so and so under-performing in the playoffs!!
Or, NOT being a clutch player.
I enjoy doing this, but I have always had issues with the lack of certain "intangibles" within the outcomes.
Clutchness (and RBI's in WIS reflect this!) is one of them.
There are certain R/L ballplayers who just don't seem to perform here in WIS as they did in their real careers.
The easiest for me to notice are the ballplayers who were clutch RBI guys!!
Here in WIS, they get SQUAT for being what they were in RL. Better hitters with men on base!!
Mind you, as a bonehead and not a PC code programmer I have NO idea How to integrate aspects of real baseball such as this one.
But, I do recognize the limitations of outcomes decided ENTIRELY by statistics (statistical matchups!) and blind luck, which DOES exist in decent measures here within the algorithm that is used.
