Rotation question Topic

In a 3 man rotation with Starter #1, Starter #2A & Starter #2B, will the turns be 1 - 2A - 1 - 2B - 1 - 2A - 1 and so on? Kind of a dumb question but I've never tried it before. Used tandems a ton but never this feature.

Yep. Just as you have it drawn up. I use this more than I do typical rotations...

Be careful selecting your pitchers. Pay attention to actual IP/G. Draft innings accordingly.

A '07 or '08 Walsh is well suited as #1, depending on what you have to spend. The '08 can sustain roughly 95-100 pitches for 80 starts. The '07 a bit less...You can go cheap and thin, or go big. Trial and error. 443IP Cy Young might show up in a search or two..Gus Krock anyone?? He is thin on innings, but 80 starts for under $11M rocks. Careful how you use him...an extra 75+ Long A is recommended. ..

For 2A/2B you can go big or skimp, depending on what kind of pen you plan on drafting. A lot of flexibility... '02 Bernhard shines here if you can afford him.

One of the best ways to find yourself both quality and value for your teams is right here, Sir...

For 2A and 2B you can substitute tandems. Start a '90 Tudor, bring in 142IP Halladay...that sort of thing...

The $/IP is one of your best weapons, all other things being equal.

Lineups are fairly plug and play. The most fun for me is building out of the box staffs. Fun to tinker. Saving a few million to add a better bat can make a big difference. Enjoy.

Thanks Doc!

I like what Doc has to say regarding this, especially about the "have fun" part. In reply to you question directly, you have it correct. Personally I don't use this often, but happen to have a couple of staffs going where '08 Walsh is coupled with a couple of 250 IP guys as 2A/2B on appropriate pitch counts and it's working out (sorta) well. Good question. (hint, Fidrych works out very well in a -1 singles park).
