Dahsdebater: The Best Sim Scheduler In HD Topic

I made this forum to recognize Dahs because I think sim scheduling is an underrated talent in HD that can help you have a lot of deeper runs due to seeding. Every season Dahs schedules all sims and has a top RPI and PR. It's incredible to me. I sim schedule in some places (like knight this season) and I consider myself pretty solid. Dahs is amazing! I've never seen anything like it.

I've always found the fascination with seeding in the NT highly overrated and in some cases counterproductive. Many, many teams are over rated and over seeded in the NT. I would much rather play the 'good scheduler' or the 'mediocre team is a human filled conference' than the 26-1 team that played 16 games against their sim filled conference but ended up with 4 seed. Personally, I would rather play (and maybe lose) a decent human than a solid SR heavy SIM team on the road because it gives me a better idea of how my team will play in the NT.

Would I rather be #1 seed, sure; but I don't put a lot of effort to get it.

I don't mean to take anything away from Dahs, I respect him as a coach.

I disagree. The higher a seed you are the most likely that you stay away from better teams for longer. I've missed the S16 3 times at Illinois and all three times I (a) got a bad sim in a second-round game that I should have won maybe 60% of the time and (b) two of the times I was a 3-4 seed instead of a 1-2 seed even though my team was easily Top 10. It is hard to have too much consistent success as the 7-10th best team in the country if you can't schedule correctly and play the 14th best team in the country so early.

Pretty sure I was one of those......

I don’t think seeding is valueless, I just think it isn’t that important. Most of my titles have come from seeds other than 1 or 2. I am pretty sure I have made the FF as an 8 or 9 and I know I have made the elite 8 from a double digit seed. Is it harder? Probably but it isn’t a huge deal.

take a look at my Fordham team cub, I could screw up and be like a 7/8 seed. Do you think the 1/2 seed is gonna be super happy to face me in the second round? The four seed will probably have an easier matchup.
