If I promote a player from High A to AAA for playoffs, and then demote him to AA after the playoffs end (before season ends), will he take a demotion penalty?
Does this only depend on Patience rating?

Not sure. I've done it the other way - drop a player down and return him to previous level - but not up then down again. I do know that I once demoted a very good prospect from AA to HiA to get him into some games - the AA team was done playing - and he took a hit. His Patience rating was 0.
