Gonna be a lot of fun seeing salaries and prorated stats for the shortened season this year.

It seems few relievers will even pitch enough to meet the 25 IP minimum for SIM eligibility.

Might see drastic changes in the way all pitchers are utilized (or over utilized) with a 60 game schedule.

Why are the new players that have given up no homers during the season giving up large numbers of homers for me and my other managers? Examples are Brad Hand, Victor Gonzalez, Devin Williams, Liam Hendricks.Thanks.

I'm seeing the same thing.

What kind of leagues? All one league, or a bunch of different leagues? What is a “large number”?

Ryan Sheriff is also getting mashed for me. All despite a 0.84 whip# and 0 hr allowed in real life. Of course he gave up a homer to blow the save in the first game of my season and it hasn't gotten much better

I recall years ago there was an issue in the sim with pitchers who gave up 0 HR in real life. Something like WIS assigned them a HR/9 of 0.10 instead of 0.01? I could be wrong but that's how I remember it. Could be a similar error here.

That's true. No pitcher truly has an underlying HR/9 of 0. Guys with 0 HR allowed are still given a very small number so there's always a chance they will give up a homerun.

Correct, though I was thinking it was 0.03 HR/9 that pitchers who gave up 0 HRs in RL were assigned, but the point is the same...

I confess I don't remember the exact number, but I think whatever it was the decimal point was moved over so they were giving up 10X more HR than WIS wanted them to.

even if its 0.1, after normalization from this HR happy era those guys still should give up a very low number

Williams and Hendricks each have HRs allowed in RL, and as best I can tell, the only team you have with these players is in a "$255 million: 12/10 waa manually selected" league. In this league you do have five 2020 pitchers who gave up 0 RL HRs, and they have combined to pitch 14.67 IP through 55 team games. Hardly a sample we can pull anything from, especially considering the caliber of hitters they are facing in every outing. I mean, your own lineup has a .382/.474/.659 slash with 541 RL HRs over ~11,500 PA. Assuming most teams in that league [MLB129350] have similar rosters, then these guys are going to give HRs at a much more significant rate than RL.

That said, Hendricks and Williams have combined to give up 3 HRs over 28.33 IP so far, where the five above have given up 8 in their 14.67 IP. It does give pause. But given the league and sample size, it's WAY too early to tell. If we get more data from other teams showing those pitchers are giving up an abnormally large amount of HRs relative to guys who actually gave up HRs in 2020 and other pitchers who didn't give up HRs in RL from other seasons, then you should put in a ticket with links to the teams in question.

Rosenthal, one of your 2020 pitchers to have 0 RL HRs, has not yet given up a HR and he's pitched more IP than all but Brad Hand in the 0 HR group, so it still could just be a small sample in an extreme league.

Has anybody sent in a ticket about the HR pitchers so they can look into it?

I came to this thread to say the same about the HRs.
