24x24 Draft
This is a draft, with two main premises:
1. You must end up with exactly one player PER FRANCHISE from among the "original" 24 franchises (as of 1969)
2. You must end up with exactly one player PER SEASON from 1969 to 1992
Draft Rules
- 25-pick main draft: You will draft 24 players plus your ballpark. Rounds 1 through 15 will have one pick per round. Rounds 16-20 will be two picks per round (to speed things up).
- Draft order: 1st Round is random, all other rounds are in ascending order of cumulative salary.
- 1-round supplemental draft: After the initial draft, you will draft your 25th player from any franchise NOT in the original 24 and from a season AFTER 1992. This round will also be in reverse order of cumulative salary.
- Pick Selection: You must announce the exact team and season (and combined/partial, if applicable) you are choosing for your player (you CANNOT change later). Post the player's salary and your team's cumulative salary to that point. Ballparks cost $2m.
- Player Pool: Any player-season from an original 24 franchise between 1969 and 1992.
- Player Exclusivity: Players are exclusive league-wide (this includes the supplemental draft). Ex.: If someone drafts a Cincinnati Reds season for Joe Morgan, nobody else can draft a Joe Morgan for any franchise.
Draft Logistics
Subject to change based on how the pacing goes once we start drafting, but here are initial thoughts:
- Rounds 1-2: Untimed. The expectation is that you will make a pick within about 2 hours of the previous pick. However, I don't want anybody to miss an early pick.
- Rounds 3-8: One round per day, with 30-minute time slots.
- Rounds 9-15: Two rounds per day, with 15-minute time slots.
- Rounds 16-20: Two rounds per day, with 15-minute time slots, but each round you will pick TWO players at a time.
- Draft HQ spreadsheet: There will be a google spreadsheet that I will keep updated frequently. This will show all picks as well as current rosters, available franchises/seasons for each owner, eligible players, etc.
Overall, this should take us about two weeks to finish the draft.

On the Clock Rules
- You must wait until your time slot to pick if the owner directly ahead of you has NOT made their pick.
- You CAN pick ahead of schedule once the owner directly ahead of you has made their pick, EVEN IF THERE'S A MISSED PICK BEFORE THEN.
EXCEPTION: No picking ahead between rounds until the round order is set. This means no picking before 9:00am ET if there are still outstanding missed picks.
- An invalid pick will be treated as a missed pick. I will try to update the board as often as possible, but it is ultimately on you to ensure it is a valid pick.
- Please use proxies by sending to the two to three owners directly AFTER your pick (you can also send to me) and, preferably, posting in the forum that you have sent proxies (this helps just in case the owners after you also miss their time slot, so you don't get jumped).
- Proxies will be honored, so if I have to, in the unlikely case someone forgets to post a valid proxy for someone else, I will unwind the draft.
Missed Pick Rules
- You can make them up at any time.
- If a pick is still missing by 9:00 am ET (for rounds scheduled to start at 10:00 am) or by 4:00 pm ET (for evening rounds during two-a-days), the $10m penalty per missed pick will apply.
- Once you make up your pick, the penalty will go away for future rounds.
