A Question For Smarter People Topic

I've got a team in my latest tournament that is made up of the 1932 Athletics, Yankees and Senators. I usually don't check every box score every round of every day but I checked the one from last night since it was a shut-out (I like to see if a no-hitter has been thrown). I looked at the line-up of my team - and no Babe Ruth. I thought it was odd because I was pretty sure I had him set in stone in my line-up against both righties and lefties. Sure enough, after checking the "Manager's Office", I confirmed that he was set in both line-ups. I looked through the box score for injuries and all and there's no mention of him anywhere. Besides, injuries are turned "off" for this round of the tournament. Also, he's at 100% as far as fatigue goes. Can anyone explain to me why the SIM just seemed to randomly take Babe out of the line-up and replace him with Earle Combs? Inquiring minds want to know...

If you want to check the box score, this is it:

I have no explanation.

Nor can I explain how your Ruffing shut down that ridiculous lineup you faced! A shutout vs Joe D, Ted, Foxx, and an all-around deep, stacked lineup. Impressive.

What's autorest set at for him?

You had been running him out at 98 for the past few games...did he hit 97 after the 9/21 PM2 game and trigger an autorest?

Looks like he missed 9/19 PM game too...for probably the same reason...did Sparky make the same move in that game?

Looks like his autorest kicked in. Going to Ruth’s game log he was at 98% the game before, so my guess is that after that game he was at 97%, rested for the game you linked and was back above autorest levels by the time you checked to see why he wasn’t there.

Makes sense - thanks guys. I don't know why I completely forget about autorest...

I know this question has been asked before but I can't remember the answer...

In the T.O.C.: If you win your first round series 3 games to 0 - and you play the winner of a series that goes 5 games before it's settled, why doesn't your pitchers get to rest those extra two rounds while the other teams are playing?

10/2/2020 3:59 PM
I think once the schedule is generated for the new round you will see those two extra days of rest.
10/2/2020 4:16 PM
That'll work - thanks Crazy.

Well, I was hoping this would be the case...but no. They didn't give my staff any rest at all.

That's surprising to me. I would send in a ticket and ask about it.

Not that I am an expert but I have been in a few ToC. My understanding/observation are that once ToC starts, it had factored in all your regular season usage and ToC doesnt reset whether extra day rest or not....it basically just factors in the full year usage regardless of ToC impacts.
