If you trade for a player that is under his first year of arbitration but put him in AAA so his service time stays at 3 years then the following year too does that extend his arbitration period? Will he go through arbitration 4 times and will his demands stay the same the two years he has 3 years of ML service time? Didn’t know if I did this it would help or once arbitration starts it’s 3 years no matter what if in ML or minors

@bjschumacher - not quite. From the FAQ - "Arbitration eligibility and minor league options are two different things, although most of the time they coincide.<br> <br> Arbitration eligibility is simple in HBD: anybody with between 3 and 5 years of big league experience is arbitration eligible."

I did this once without planning it, I demoted a SP after 2.5 seasons in the bigs then left him in AAA for about a full season. (The guy was borderline good so I didn't want to just dump him.) FWIW he had 99 Patience. Ended up Arb'ing him five times.
