Dumb question and i think i know the answer but want to make sure.

i have a player with a big salary and no options. I want to move him to AAA but he needs to clear waivers.

What process do i use to make sure i dont get stuck paying the majority of his salary over the life of his contract if someone were to claim him?

Put him on waivers. If it's past the trade deadline make sure you DO NOT check the block to automatically revoke the waivers. If someone claims him, you're off the hook.

@ampipe100 - If you waive a player and someone else claims him, they claim his contract with him. You're off the hook.

What you're worried about is if you Release him. If you Release a player outright, his entire contract stays with you. Anyone who claims him after that only has to pay $327k.
