This is Willis. He's obviously a stud and one of the best players I've recruited in this game. Wish he has a little more stamina, but yeah, he's awesome.

He was about 80th-90th on the big board freshman year and got up to 30th by the start of Sophomore year. I tanked his BH, and got insanely lucky and got that awesome positive formula switch! He dropped about 50 spots to about 80th. He's been climbing up the big board since and stayed for me as a Junior about 50th-55th on the big board. He started this year around #18 but dropped to #25 because his cores are all maxed. I've been developing his BH hard since its senior year, and he actually switched back to his original formula today, leaping to #4 on the big board!

What lack of development strategies work against going EE?
Is it based on his overall rating being at say 900?
or is it the need for specifically LP and PER to stay low or underdeveloped?

There is a hidden formula to determine a players position. The listed position that the coach can manually change does nothing to influence the big board.

For example, you could have a guy rated as the #10 SF in the class based upon his ratings. Then his BH and Pass ratings drop and now he's considered a PF by the system. But because he's not as good of a PF as SF or because there are so many other really good PFs in this class, he could be considered the 20th best PF.

So now the big board formula doesn't consider him to be 'as good' as before and he drops down the big board. But because of the position change, he drops WAY down the board. This is why people try to manipulate the big board by withholding growth in 'non essential' ratings. You may want to hold back your reb on your PG so he doesn't get rated as a SF, for example.

Generally switching towards SF bumps players up and switching away from SF bumps down.

Franks is currently rated as a SF (and was rated as a SF originally when I recruited him) despite the fact his WIS listed recruiting position was a PF.
