Couple of shows/movies that have worked for me recently.
- Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Frances McDormand's performance really carries everything here. The commitment to the tone of the movie really sets it apart as part of a conversation on grief.
- Clone High. I'm sad I didn't know about this until a few weeks ago. What an awesome concept, and I hear it's set for a revival soon.
- All The Smoke. As basketball podcasts go, probably the gold standard in terms of athletes having a platform combined with unapologetic, unyielding social commentary. Shout out to [undrafted] and [undrafted] for their work.
- The J.J. Redick Podcast. I really liked some of the interviews from them lately, including from Damian Lillard and [undrafted]. I went to high school with Tommy Alter so it's pretty cool to see him doing so well.
- Dark. I love time loop shows with alternate universes and timelines. It's like Stranger Things, but for my money it's way better.
And, yeah, it seems like a lot of shows stopped filming due to COVID. I was looking forward to seeing how The Blacklist and Billions finished up their seasons, but.......we'll have to wait.
i really wish BoJack Horseman wasn't over but it is what it is, thanks to Raphael Bob-Waksberg for seven seasons of genius
