A free agent who was released by another team, and didn't play at all last season...still has pretty decent ratings for the role I would use him in. Obviously due to not playing, his ratings dropped last season...about 1-4 points in several different categories...but he's currently only 29 years old. If I sign him...and based on my $20M training and medical budgets...is there any chance that he will "gain back" any of those lost points from last season?

If he's a pitcher, he might gain back a point or 2 in some categories. But probably not if he's a position player.
