Is definitely 2019 Ketel Marte. I’ve seen him a lot in open leagues in the past 12-14 months but recently it’s been outrageous. In two open leagues I’m currently in he’s on 13 and 10 teams respectively.

Yes, he is the new Hojo.

Used him several times and see him in lineups of several teams in every open league In which I have participated. Based on his performances it’s easy to see why. Most times he is near or above his RL stats. At 5.5M he is a bargain. Having said that my results with him are very mixed from great to very disappointing.

Personally I haven’t used him yet but like you said joerat, I can see why he’d be used often. Hits for avg, extra base hits and plays multiple positions. Also from what I’ve seen he equals or exceeds his RL numbers in open leagues. Just seems a bit much to be on half the teams in a league.

His Performance history avg RC is 131, which is one of the highest, if not the highest, RC at that price point.

You’re starting from behind if you don’t take him

He's on 6 teams in the Champ's League I'm in. Regular season just ended, only two Ketels are headed to the playoffs.

I honestly rarely pick him cause he doesn’t fit into my range criteria.

2020 Mookie Betts is this year's cookie. Produces runs, good D and affordable.

I checked his PH because my use was quite disappointing. Turns out mine was the worst and by a wide margin. On the same team I got much better mileage from Trent Grisham who gave me 25 more RC with less errors and more + plays for $200k less.

I’ll certainly give Betts another look after seeing his PH, but Grisham still seems like the better buy so far.

funny...one of my formulas for "value" spits out Ketel and Mookie as two of the best picks from 2019-2020, which are already advantaged seasons because they are from the post-salary adjustment era. I have an OL team right now with both of them - Ketel merely good this time around, but I've used him before and he's a stud, and other versions of him are littering the league leaderboards in several categories. Mookie has been a mixed bag in my first use - he'll end up with something like .280/.350/.425 with 25hr, 25st and a few + plays, but a ton of errors. I wouldn't give up on him, but he hasn't been that great, at least not like Ketel usually is.

I think Corey Seager 2020 has a good chance of being a cookie right along with Mookie.
