Hangover League 1993 Expansion franchise taken Topic

The Hangover League, one of the oldest and best progressives out there, has an opening for an owner for the 1993 season -- which will be our League's 48th -- and beyond.

The league operates under a simple structure. Draft order is determined by W-L record at the end of the season, with a wins floor applied to the top four draft spots. Rosters consist of 25 real time players, with a set of older era scrubs available as AAA. Draft picks may be traded one draft cycle ahead.

The league follows MLB historical expansion, format and ballpark availability. We started with 16 teams in the 1946 season and are growing to 28 teams for our upcoming 1993 season, with the addition of Florida and Colorado.

We find ourselves needing an owner to take on the Florida expansion franchise. If you'd like to take on a challenge, progressive league expansion franchises certainly offer that.

We'll start our expansion draft on the weekend of the 19th. You'll select fifteen players in that draft, the rest of your roster coming from the rookie/free agent draft after that.

How does the expansion draft work.

Fifteen rounds, straight 1-2-1-2-1-2
Florida would pick after Colorado.
Each AL team will lose one player. All NL teams lose at least one, top 4 by win % in 1992 lose two players.
These teams protect one additional after losing their first.

Then, we move to the rookie & free agent draft...
Expansion teams would pick after teams with losing records in 1992, after teams finishing .500 or better.
Florida picks ahead of Colorado each round.
Draft is for six rounds.
Expansion teams get supplemental picks after rounds 1, 3, and 5
You'll select your 25th player on a first come first served basis from the remaining pool after the conclusion of the 6th round.

Assuming the existing teams get to protect players...in which case is there a list of the availables in the expansion draft.

Also, is there a salary cap?

No salary cap, no limit on number of keepers...well, technically it's 25.

The team by team list of protected players is in the league's private forum.
