Sometimes the best way to learn is to tinker with trial and error. I can't think of too many things that you can't learn from trial and error, the boards or asking questions. Other things like how things work, the timing of when things happen can be read on guides and FAQs. With that being said there are some things that are frustratingly vague despite the above suggestions -- how much does a C's PC rating actually affect the pitcher's BAA; what player ratings are correlated to coach discipline and patience; when the manager gets tossed from the game, is there really a half inning ratings bump? If so, how significant is the bump?
I know they can't tell us everything. I wouldnt expect them to tell us how they randomize player performance, ditr selection, or prospect creation, but providing more clarity on ratings seems like something that is relevant, but doesn't give away secrets that allows clever owners to manipulate. Does the manager patience rating act as a multiplier to a young players development? Is the managers discipline rating affect batting eye, groundball and control ratings for players? If the C's pitch calling rating can effect a pitchers BAA by up to .015, is this the difference between C with 70 PC vs. a C with 100. PC or is the difference between a 40 PC and a 70 PC? Is there a cumulative effect (I.e. Will a 40 PC C give up a .030 higher BAA than a 100 PC C)?
