This is not a thread for or against, but

to note that as of today NL teams still don’t know what rule they are playing under.

The ML Players Assoc today rejected a trade of Universal DH for expanded playoffs.

Their reasoning seems to be that owners make more from expanded playoffs, then the what the NL would pay to DH players.


(Personally don’t like the DH, but the reasoning, and the lack of knowing 4 weeks before Spring Training, seems typically idiotic to me.)

Yes the DH experiment from 1973 continues.

It creates a roster spot, a job, so the player's union will not allow it to be abolished. I'm not a fan, but they don't care about that. There are valid pro and con arguments as to the existence of the DH...no need to go there...

Yes it's a might close to Opening Day to not have a decision. No doubt the lawyers must be terribly busy to not have this wrapped up by now. What a pity...
