OK, I took over a team this year and have the overall #1 selection. I'm somewhat new to the game and have never had the 1/1 pick before.

I have 17 million in both college and hs scouting.

I have it narrowed to two.

Thanks for updating those with bats/throws info.

My opinion doesn't really change much. Stay away from position player #2. Outside of hitting lefties, he'll be a disappointment. Position player #3 will be a GG winner in RF (or LF or 1B), but overall, I still like position player #1 better than him -- so it's still Starling vs. Position Player #1. I'd probably lean toward Starling. He looks like he'll be a solid starter you can lean on for a long time to give you a lot of quality innings.

Where did the other pitchers you posted go? I was thinking one looked better then Starling but wanted to confirm. There are no stud relievers or other better hitters with just lower overalls? If I had #1 over all Id want an elite player. To me none of those pos players are that good.

I like the pitcher. But if you'd rather have a position player, Player #1. The thing about the pitcher is, he's already 22 years old, so he is already fairly close to those projections. Which means you can get him to the majors quicker. Also, usually college player projections are usually a bit more reliable than high school player projections.

Thank you all for the help. I'm leaning toward Starling the Pitcher. I went back through and found a couple other players with really good splits. I overlooked them at first because they didn't have great contact projections. Also, someone mentioned the other pitchers. I posted a few others. That's about it though. There is one other pitcher with really good vr/vl (82/82) but control is projected at 48. Any additional thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you all again.

Pitcher #1 and Player #4 are my choices... a very good SP2/borderline SP1, and a nice frequent All-Star 3B. I'd rather be drafting either of them at 4 or 5 than 1, though... it's a pretty terrible draft pool.
