self-draft AAA vs assigned AAA normalization Topic

If I understand correctly, regularly assigned AAA normalize to the current year? (or something like that)

How about self-draft AAA? Do they normalize the same as regular AAA or do they act like a drafted player and normalize to their own year?

As far as I’m aware, drafted AAA act as regularly drafted players and normalize to their own year. I could be wrong and haven’t seen anything definitive on it. That’s just been my understanding.

I kinda thought AAA players were normalized against 2020. A51man might be right about there being a differentiation between random and not - I'm not sure.
