This is exactly what I mean when I argue that today's woke left is as anti-science (not too mention pro-censorship) as the evangelical right ever was. Radical Christians and Woke Leftists are two peas from the same, universalist pod. Theirs is a universalist religion, in the woke left's case it is simply nontheistic.

If discourse bores you, do not engage yourself with the big questions.

For me, I think it's pretty frightening that our holy lefties want to discount evolutionary biology so that nobody's feelings get hurt. To me, that seems to predict big problems ahead of us. Anti-intellectual ones (discourse, of course, is boring to anti-intellectuals!)

So taking this article, what actual policy would you change?

Bad ideas get to bad policy. Get to the bad policy. Or to the "big problems."

For starters, the field of humanities, and all the social justice activists therein, need to stay the eff out of the hard sciences. The hard sciences should be devoted to truth and not politics, not politically correct niceties. I want to hear from credentialed evolutionary biologists and not some blue check mark on twitter with enough following to pressure our universities into publishing only comfortable truths (and fictions).

If you do not believe this is happening (and happening a lot), I'm going to venture that you are not close with anyone currently working in that environment. I am and their hands are tied in numerous, political ways. It's sad. They know the woke left's doctrines do not conform to scientific reasoning, but they are given no backing to argue (doing so would risk their position, be it on a university or corporate level). This ain't heartwarming, but these ARE the facts.

OK, so going by your point, let's assume that the woke mob is somehow changing scientific opinion, which explains all of why academia seems to align with the left. My question for you would be how you know when a scientific opinion has changed naturally and when it has changed because of the wokes?

If I buy into your logic, how would I know who to trust and when to change my opinion on a biological issue if the science has moved in a different direction?
