While doing some research for the 110mil Friendo theme in the WISC I took at look at the 1887 Louisville Colonels roster. (Is 'colonel' pronounced with an 'r' sound?) Some of these names...
Manager: Kick Kelly (very serious fellow)
2B: Reddy Mack (Doesn't just send a baseball to the 1Bman when turning two. A delicious plate of mac'n'cheez comin' at'cha...)
OF: Chicken Wolf (Only player to play in the American Association for all 10 years of its existence...also can't decide if he's a bird or a mammal, but at least he's loyal)
OF: Hub Collins (I don't want to know what the hub refers to)
Bench: Guy Hecker (You know you're a bench player when it's your last name they mess with. "Please guys, I know i'm the noob but don't make me change my last na..."Shut up, kid...or should I say Shut the HECK up, kid!")
Bench: Ducky Hemp
SP: Toad Ramsey (All of a sudden Ducky doesn't feel so bad)
SP: Ice Box Chamberlain: (What does Olaf eat for lunch? ICEBERGERS)
SP: Peak-A-Boo Veach (Laughing imagining him having to say "hyphen" out loud when spelling his name for someone.)
Honestly 'Noah' and 'Charlotte' aren't that bad. Thankful to live at a good time in history!
