Based on what we currently understand, what are the requirements at D2 before you can jump to D1?

Are there certain requirements that qualify you for D1 (bottom feeders), additional requirements for higher prestige schools, etc.?

What have you guys learned from the coaching carousel since they changed it to make it easier for humans to take over sim-coached teams?

I have 3 teams, and my thinking right now is that I will stick long-term with D2 Ouachita Baptist in Rupp (my dad played there & I just had my best recruiting class after my first season), but I want to try to get to D1 in Tark (coached 1 D3 season, jumped to a dumpster fire D2 rebuild not realizing I could get a D2 job after only 1 D3 season, and then jumped to a really good D2 team - conf. tourney starts tomorrow) and Iba (towards the end of my 1st D3 season).

Trying to figure out how soon I'll be able to reach a D1 team in either Tark or Iba, and also whether it's better to build a strong D2 program & wait until I qualify for a good D1 job vs jumping to D1 ASAP - and possibly picking a mostly-sim D1 conference so I can win enough to jump to a better D1 job.

*best recruiting class relative to my teams in all 3 worlds - not celebrating my first recruiting class at OBU being my best recruiting class at OBU... lol

I think you should probably be able to land a low D1 job in Tark as early as next season if you really want it, from what I’ve seen others do. As I understand it, you may appear as “not qualified” but may still get the job. (This is something that should be fixed, IMO, if it is possible to get a job, the comment should indicate something separate from the jobs that are not possible).

Now whether that’s advisable, maybe not. Depends on what you want to be doing, I suppose, and your long term goals.

Thanks! I’m planning to job hop in Tark - unless going to my 4th different team in 4 seasons keeps me from getting either a D1 job or another strong D2 job.

RS1 was looking good for me the whole session, and then Florida swooped in late on one of my 3 guys I was hoping to land, and a D1 got above moderate on each of the other two guys. I was able to push one of them back down to moderate & might be able to get both of them... but I also might get neither of them & have to pretty much start from scratch in RS2.

Next season doesn’t look terrible with my returners & my RS2 signings from last season, but it also doesn’t look good enough to keep me from testing the market.

I also have never coached a D1 team so I’m curious to see the scouting budget & what it feels like to be on the other side of D1 vs D2 recruiting battles. :)

Even if it’s a “bottom feeder” (in a mostly-sim conference).
