Draft - Getting a player to sign Topic

So my first round draft pick is still considering a D-1 Basketball scholarship or my offer.

Currently I am $4.5 million over his asking price and offered him a minor league deal with a spring training invite.

Is there anyway that you think I can sign this guy?

Just offer what he is asking. Don't offer more or less or any other incentives. It won't matter. He will either sign for what he is asking for, come back with an increase in his demands or go to college. What you offer doesn't matter as long as you are offering his asking price. Patience, my young padewan.

In addition, don't delete your prospect negotiation msg's. When a player declines your offer, you can go back to that player's msg and click on the green [>>] symbol in the header and re-submit your offer. You'll get ~4ish? attempts at "probably won't sign" players to finally get them signed using this method. I've only lost out on maybe one or two who decline to sign every single contract offer attempt.

Sometimes I increase my offer by 1000$ or so , I keep them talking, don't know if it matters, but makes me feel proactive

It doesn't help, but could restart the clock on how quickly (slowly?) they sign.

Agree with drummer, DO NOT offer more does nothing, and again, it may reset clock.

Just be patient and as brianplath stated, if they final decline, keep the message and click on >> and go back and offer the same amount, NOT MORE. If they eventually decline again, do it once again. Eventually, they will most likely sign. I have gotten so many to sign this way.

Good Luck
