SP Pull Settings Topic

The SP settings seem to have changed. Despite being set at 1, my SPs are being pulled early. Has this happened to anybody else?

I had a low-BB, 7.8 IP/G, HR-prone SP give up a game-tying 2-run HR with one out in the 6th inning. He was set for 100 pitches at pull-1, and had only thrown 74 pitches, yet he was pulled. My team doesn't have much in the bullpen, so I wanted to get all 100 pitches out of the SP.

The answer to my ticket about this was: "The big factors and to sort of simplify the logic that happened are that it was after the 5th inning, and the pitcher just gave up a homerun which lost their lead. The game was still tied, but the logic is just checking that the lead was lost. So basically poor inning performance + lead lost + after 5th." Doesn't this explanation sound more like the pull-3 setting than pull-1?

I've had the same issue Bribar (although I don't think it's a new change, just an issue that seems to happen occasionally, almost at random), and the thing I did that *seems* to have helped is change my team management pinch-hitter setting from a default 3 down to a 2. Not sure what you're currently running, but you might try that. Like I say, it seems to have helped me a little.

I haven't noticed that sort of thing. Usually the pull makes sense (and I use "1" for my SP essentially all the time).

Change your relievers available setting to the 8th or 9th inning and that won't happen again.

If there's no reliever available then the starter will reach their pitch count before they are pulled and performance will never be the deciding factor.
