the targeting penalty is under review

Just reading all of the juicy drama now, lll say first I agree with Gil through that thread in that’s it’s a lose-lose on their end. No matter the decision, you’re going to have people complaining. I just think having 1 user with however many accounts complaining should mean less than the countless users who complain about how they are constantly breaking rules and making the game generally less enjoyable at lower divisions which includes many new users.

I think CS missed the mark with this response and that’s coming from someone who is largely supportive of them (through promises for inels, firings, etc.) by saying he’s been cleared but suggesting he’s on a short leash, How many times does somebody need to break the FPG before it’s a perma ban? I suppose my girlfriend and brother also have accounts too now. Hopefully I don’t accidentally have a team near them, accidentally recruit unscouted players that they scouted, accidentally use my higher division team to hold onto recruits low tier recruits until my brother and gf coincidentally with them. But even if all of those accidents and coincidences happen, it’s good to know CS will understand and accept it.

And I’m most blown away about the harassing part leading to it becoming locked. I understand some see it as trolling but the user in question attacks others and typically posts inflammatory comments (and that’s ignoring how he constantly ***** on their game, I’m speaking strictly against other users). It took 2 seconds of looking up Sinais most recent forum posts under there Profile to find this before anyone knew they “knew each other”. So on top of the constant FPG violations and coincidences and accidents and excuses, the user also was having his “friend” call others users dick riders to defend his main account. Having a hard time seeing how that’s acceptable, but the thread speaking about his constant cheating/inflammatory comments is too far? Id speculate it’s because CS didn’t like that they were being called out specifically in there.

I still hold sympathy with the staff because any decision for a community over 10 people will result in someone being upset. But I think they missed the mark is all.

cheaters should be targeted, even though he wasn’t he was just called out for being a cheater and a troll on multiple accounts and breaking rules within worlds. if its a lose-lose for people, well I am done spending money on this site.

I like this thread for the most part. But I have two things to add. 1) my question to them has always been... after countless infractions, why would we care to lose this coach as a user, when he doesn't spend a dime, has a bazillion credits, and plays for gift cards only. In comparison to even just "leaving a foul taste in the mouth" of ONE coach that's here paying and playing normal? There's no reason. I've never understood that.

And 2) CS definitely doesn't like to be "called out" so to speak. They say that to me in every ticket discussion I have with them! I don't want to be a butthead. I want the right things to be done!

just curious - is countless infractions two, or did i miss a bunch of the earlier part of the story? or is the countless a reference to perhaps many teams he had in violation at the same time when he was reported each time? i'm not actually aware of the specifics there

Anyways, in other news, it's cold in Cincinnati. And no Bengals this week. Hope we can get a win next Sunday.

The part that I found hilarious from CS's response was that the thread was locked because it was against FPG for attacking another user.

The entire policing system for FPG is currently set up that the the users are the ones who maintain the integrity of the games on WIS - not the employees. They have created - or just continue to operate - in a system where the ONLY way violations of FPG are discovered is by users finding them and then sending in tickets or creating threads to call out the BS behavior - thereby providing awareness to the HD community that the integrity of the game is being upheld. You need everyone to be aware of what is happening or else - how could we possibly continue to police the game ourselves?

So to the current customer service reps running the site - if you don't want threads created calling out cheating then you need to set up better safeguards to prevent it from happening and not rely on us to police the game for you. People are paying for this game (some people have paid A LOT over the years) and they don't get all warm and fuzzy paying for a game that just lets cheating slide by from someone who has done this AT LEAST twice. Come on, use your brains.

yeah they minimally could have been smoother in their delivery there, that was pretty obviously going to rub folks the wrong way. had to laugh when i saw it, what can you do

I alerted them to a user that has 3 teams in one world the other day (2 D1 and a D3). They even went on to say they thought it was overkill to have that many teams in the same world. Now I want to see what they end up doing with all those IDs

The bad thing about this, is there's likely a way that this is legal, regarding fairplay guidelines (I don't know because I don't measure miles between schools because I don't take part in trying to squeak by the rules. I just play NORMAL). And with that in mind, it's possible that NOTHING gets done. If he's in like D3 Hawaii and like D1 New Mexico and Maine (random locations), he's in compliance.

Goofy? Absolutely!
Breaking fairplay guidelines as they are? Maybe not.

"The entire policing system for FPG is currently set up that the the users are the ones who maintain the integrity of the games on WIS - not the employees." Worse yet, when the users do ferret out some violations, staff seems to actively resist dealing with it in any definitive way.

"So to the current customer service reps running the site" ... maybe you need to deal with one or two cheaters in a very public way, if there is to be any deterrent value at all to what you do. Otherwise, it appears ... well, it doesn't appear good, and appearances do matter.
