I'm sure this has been asked before in some form or another, but was curious if rescinding a scholarship as soon as that option becomes available will then open up another scholarship to offer during Phase 2 of recruiting? I have four available and have my 4 potential signees ready to go once Phase 2 starts. I also have a very low potential PF that I plan to drop and a decent walk-on who I'd like to give his scholarship to, but I also know that signing a walk-on takes away recruiting resources, so I was wondering if dropping a player would also bring those resources back? Sorry if this is a confusing question, many thanks in advance to those who can assist.

You will get scouting and recruiting resources for the player that you cut if he was signed by either simmy or a prior coach. You will open up a scholarship when you cut him even if you cut a player that you signed.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's highly unlikely that the walk on is worthy of a ship. That's so rare that I can't remember the last time I know of someone doing it. I can't see the guy, so I don't KNOW. But I'm going to guess that you may be better off just signing players in the recruit pool
