The long-running Real Life Progressive League (over 80 seasons and in its second go-around) is looking for a replacement owner for the Texas Rangers. The draft will be able to start off the clock within a few days when we reach game 120. The Rangers are likely to have the 4th or 5th pick in a 24 team league, with the top picks likely to be Machado, Harper, and Andrelton Simmons on the hitting side, and Yu Darvish, Dallas Keuchel and Trevor Bauer on the pitching side. For the 2012 season, the Rangers are loaded with hitters, but are in a down year for starters, so rebuilding the SP staff will need to be the focus. Your lineup is solid, with seven players having over 500 ABs, 190 HRs and over 200 SBs. There are currently 1,100 IPs, with three decent starters and two innings eaters with over 100 IPs.

This progressive league is like most, except that any player who started his career in a season is available to be drafted that season in the first round. In other words, for this season's 2012 draft, some of the top picks are "prospects" who started their careers in 2012 but didn't have a legitimate WIS season. Usually there are quite a few key prospects available, but 2012 is a down year for prospects, so it looks like only SP Trevor Bauer and SP Jake Odorizzi would be of interest in the 1st round. A prospect (we keep a separate draft list to make it easy) joins any players you have on the DL/IR until he is WIS eligible. If you select a prospect in the first round, you can pick up your 25th player in the supplemental draft round, which occurs after the normal draft is finished. The rest is pretty standard, with 4 AAA that you select from the 2012 season, and a DH is used in the AL. We have been around for over 80 seasons, and the rules are very detailed to prevent tanking. Plus, there is a great group of owners in this 24 team league, with lots of friendly banter and plenty of trades.
