Hall of Famer and former Cy Young winner passes away at 69. If I’m not mistaken, Sutter was one of the first pitchers to use the split fingered fastball. I remember Mike Scott and Roger Craig being associated with the pitch in the 80’s but my father always said Sutter threw the pitch before Scott.
