I can not figure out how the sim picks pinch hitters. I am in a league where I have one player as the first pinch hitter in any situation (power vs left, contact vs left etc) yet most of the time other players pinch hit before he does. What is the point of setting pinch hitter settings if the sim does not pay any attention to them?

can you give a few examples? hard to help otherwise

Okay. The player is have #1 in the pinch hitting hierarchy for every instance, whether vs LH or RH, Is Babe Ruth.
In the last game 3 PHs were used, none of them Ruth. In each case there was a lefty pitching.
1. Bottom of the 5th, we are losing 3 - 1. 2 outs, nobody on base, and S. Stirnweiss PHs for the pitcher. Stirnweiss is 11th on the hierarchy vs L and you need power. 4th vs L when contact is needed. Ruth is 1st in both situations.
2. Bottom of the 8th. Losing 3 -1. No outs,nobody on base
B. Clarke is used a s a PH for the pitcher. In the hierarchy he is 12th vs L needing power, 6th needing contact
3. Bottom 9th 1 out, 1 on. Howard Johnson pinch hits for the pitcher.
Johnson not even on the hierarchy vs lefties for needing power or contact. He is 8th for Other (whatever that means)

I know AI looks at the situation, who is on the bench and other things. I still can't see why Ruth was not used in any of those situations, especially the bottom of the 9th.

What is Ruth's fatigue, and what is his autorest set to?

Yes, cuz Sparky will always follow what you have set. Gotta be fatigue/rest related if your settings are correct. Same goes for pitcher usage...he won't ad lib.

right now he is at 97% and his auto rest was set at 98 so maybe that was it. I lowered hos auto rest to 90%. See if that makes any difference. Not sure how he could even be as low as 97% since he rarely plays.

The Babe tires himself out walking back and forth to buy hot dogs while waiting for an at bat.

yep, it is the 35 Babe. Of course in the at bats he has had, he's been pretty bad so I shouldn't mind if he doesn't get many at bats!
