Relevant High School Stats... Topic

Hi Everyone,
Just double-checking in case something changed with updates, etc..

Regarding high school recruits, from what i understand, the only relevant stats are these 2 things:

(1) Free Throw Percentage.
(2) GPA.

that is all.

All other high school stats information is irrelevant... FG% means squat, height and weight mean squat, rebounds per game means squat, blocks per game is squat, points per game is squat.

If this is incorrect, please post here. Thanks!

Also, as far as i understand:

- Only "playing time" can increase Work Ethic.
- Only a combination of Work Ethic quality, and practice minutes, can provide ratings improvement.
- Only GPA is used as a gauge to determine how many hours need to be put into Study Hall.

First comment, I believe you’re right

second comment, starts also factor in to increased WE, and indirectly, ratings improvements. More starts equals faster WE growth equals faster development

I think both Previous GPA and Work Ethic factor into Study Hall considerations but the target is GPA, so it is more see the midterm and adjust than anything.

Height may matter for winning tip-offs.

Years of service also matters. A sophomore with a 2.5 needs more study hall minutes than a senior with a 2.5 (who probably doesnt need any).

playing time directly impacts ratings improvement.

HS GPA and work ethic drive IQ improvement (along with practice time, but nothing else, no playing time etc.). college GPA is impacted by HS GPA but college GPA only impacts future college GPA.

i think this is right basically.

unimportantly, and rambling-ly... height is tied into recruit generation, and then is not used in game. however, there are players who grow height wise in the offseason, resulting in REB and BLK increases that are more than 'normal', i think. so i think its sort of possible... not-that-tall-yet C/PF players with already good reb/blk, might have better off season improvement prospects (still within the confines of their potential) than already-tall C/PF players.

this is mostly rampant speculation on my part... and clearly not important.
