Starting in 1885, I’ve listed every two-year period chronologically and have taken the best franchise in that two year period and combined it with the worst franchise in that two year period and created a combo.
I split up the seasons into fifteen leagues with plenty of choices in each one. Like Round One, there are no National and American League (or American Association) splits in this round. No one should have a problem finding a combo they like.
Team Building: The combinations are listed with the better team named first, followed by the weaker team second. Your roster can have no more than TEN players from the better franchise and the rest must come from the weaker franchise. For example, if you chose the “1903-1904: Philadelphia Athletics – Chicago White Sox” in League Two, you can only have ten players from the Athletics and the other fifteen players must come from the White Sox.
Clones! I started to go with no clones but I thought that allowing one in the last round made things a bit more interesting, so we’re going to go down that road again. ONE per team. It can be either a pitcher or a position player – and it must come from one of your two years and one of your two franchises. In other words, if you have the 1919-1920 Red Sox, you can use the 1919 version of Babe Ruth but you can’t use the 1920 version since that player is from the Yankees.
League Alignment The top 30 teams from Round One will get to choose which league and which division in that league that they desire. After the top 30 team owners make their selection, each of the fifteen leagues will have a separate draft board set up in “TheJuice6’s Theme League Draft Forum” to finish out the picks for each league. Like the first 30, every follow up pick can and must include their division choice with their team selection.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
NO CAP – Build the best roster you can from your combo.
Clones: Just one per team as mentioned above.
Designated Hitter: Yes
Waiver Wire: No
Injuries – Turned On
Trades: No
A.A.A.: No
You may use either partial or full season stats of any player who had a split season - as long as the stats indicate it was for your franchise.
Stadium – You must use a stadium that existed during the time-frame of your combo AND was the home ballpark for one of your two franchises. If that ballpark isn’t in the database, you must use WhatIfSports Park.
Who Moves On?
Once Round TWO is complete, the owners who own the eight playoff teams in each league will earn a spot in Round Three. 8 x 15 = 120 spots. That leaves 120 spots to fill. The final 120 spots will be awarded to the teams who had the most wins across all 15 leagues (who didn't make their league's playoffs). The tie-break (should it come into play) will be (1) Highest Exp. %, and (2) Most Home Wins.
Rounds Three through Seven will all be completely different than Rounds One and Two. I’ve already got them figured out but will post them later.
Here are the Combos that are available for each league:
