The long-running Real Life Progressive League (over 80 seasons and in its second go-around) is looking for a replacement owner for the Chicago White Sox, with 2018 being a free team. The draft is winding down, and the season will start soon. The White Sox received P Framber Valdez in the 1st round. The White Sox team now has an excellent starting staff including P Zack Grienke, P Anthony DeSclafani, P Jose Quintana, Sean Newcomb and Wade Miley, who are all very good in 2018, P Caleb Smith who is excellent in 2019, and P Framber Valdez, who is a stud in 2020 and 2022. Their batting includes Marcus Semien, Kyle Seager, Tim Anderson and Andrew Benintendi, and Semien and Anderson give you two stud shortstops, which provides trade bait.

This progressive league is like most, except that any player who started his career in a season is available to be drafted that season in the first round. In other words, for this season's 2018 draft, some of the picks are "prospects" who started their careers in 2018 but didn't have a legitimate WIS season. A prospect (we keep a separate draft list to make it easy) joins any players you have on the DL/IR until he is WIS eligible. If you select a prospect in the first round, you can pick up your 25th player in the supplemental draft round, which occurs after the normal draft is finished. The rest is pretty standard, with 4 AAA that you select from the 2018 season, and a DH is used in the AL. We have been around for over 80 seasons, and the rules are very detailed to prevent tanking and to keep it somewhat close to real life. Plus, there is a great group of owners in this 24 team league, with lots of friendly banter and plenty of trades. Drafts start after game 120, the draft moves fast, and we almost always start the new season immediately after the current World Series, so no long waits! Once we complete the 2023 season, we will restart in the 1950s or 1962.
