1. Remember to throw the OVR out the window when evaluating players.
2. Copy all ratings into a spreadsheet
3. Apply my own formulas to both pitcher ratings and hitter ratings
4. Rank the players based on a combination of the formulas and other factors (fielding position, health, signability, patience)
Same -- spreadsheet it; eyeball it. The best advice for the draft I can give is that if you're going to be spending a lot of real life time on it, be sure to have scouting that is maxed out. A 14 million dollar scouting budget every season won't cut it.
I don't use the positional rankings in my settings. I draft the best player available based on my manual rankings, but checking out positions that are duds and then eliminating them from your board seems like a clever idea.
