Deivi, IMO, and it isn't really that close. Designate him and hope someone picks him up as he is expensive and getting worse with every ratings cycle. The first two are younger and still have options. The last one is out of options that you may lose. I'd rather have the $2.5M back if someone does pick Deivi up and would try and save those options for a rainy day...

Unfortunately, if no one does pick him up, you are paying him $2.5M this year and next to sit in your minors (with players like this I always make sure to have the last year a mutual option just in case it comes to this so the last year's buyout is 1/4 of that amount), but I still think it's better than the alternative.

Interesting. I consider him (even with his decline in ratings) to be the best of the bunch. The money means nothing to me I knew he was a 1 year rental. I should of clarified production is # 1 and of course #2 is losing a player with no options trying to clear waivers are the key in my decision.

I agree, Delvi. My thought though is more along the lines of, if you want to keep him, I think it's fairly unlikely he doesn't clear at his age and price (depending how late in the season it is).

+3 for Delvi. I've got him and Palmer a bit lower than the other two and since he'll only get worse I'd cut bait on him first.

Do you mean two year rental? You are in season 63 and you have him on the books for next year as well for the same money. He will keep getting worse and cost money you'd rather spend elsewhere (and I feel that as these guys get old, they start playing worse than their ratings, except for Friar's beloved Ivan Sierra).
