It would be a huge improvement if HBD used Sim AI to manage teams (like every other game on WIS).

I get that engaged human owners are the best, but all that happens is a league waits forever to fill and then fills with a handful of owners who login in a few times and then abandon their team. This just means that Sim AI runs the team anyway--seems like a waste to have to wait so long to fill with owners who (usually) drop out very quickly.

I am curious why you think that? To be clear, what I am saying is that they shouldn't make leagues go unfilled for weeks waiting for human managers, not that Sim AI should manage teams that have human owners. In other words, have sim ai manage a team like it does in the HD, GD, etc. The way it works now, leagues often go weeks waiting to fill only to "fill" with human owners that manage the team for a few days and sim ai takes over anyway. It seems like waiting weeks or months without a league filling is a far worse outcome.

I have played since the very beginning (I was in Williams, which was an original league that got consolidated because it never filled) and if you have never been in a league that has trouble filling, you have been very, very lucky.

Agreed with bripat. Why do AI owners “work” in those other games? Because recruitment is the only thing. You can’t have AI deciding on trades, etc.

WIS has a history of implementing AI badly. Anyone who's been around a while most likely has an automatic reaction against it. Not without reason.

I think it would be possible and better for HBD words to set a limit on the number of AI teams they'll take. AI won't be allowed to do everything. No trades seems the most obvious. Most of the other stuff could be done by an AI better than the bottom 20% of humans.

Yes, I would agree with that.

There are also too many leagues of the number of human owners that regularly play. If you get more than a couple humans drop out, the wait for the league to restart can be a long, long time.

Also, and I said this above, you end with SIM AI anyway when a human owners stops logging in after a few days.

apmcpm I would rather wait , the differences in HD and GD from HBD are enough where it would ruin competitiveness in those leagues IMHO. Hiring coaches, signing free agents, draft and trades when a player stops logging in to HBD they can be easily replaced. 15 days is all it takes. Honestly once a GD OR HD season starts the team can function without a manager not the case with HBD. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
