Does anyone know when the deadline to sign a walk-on is. It is the NT right now. If possible I would like to wait until after the season ends so I can see if I lose a player to EE.

I am in D1 in Rupp World. Right now we are in the middle of the 2nd recruiting session after the season has been over. I have a walk-on player on my roster. On my Manage Roster page there is a tab next to the walk-on players name where I can offer him a scholarship.

The answer was it has to be done by the end of the National Tournament.

I offered a walk-on scholarship at the end of RS2

If I'm not mistaken it's actually anytime before the world rolls over. Which is about an hour after late recruiting ends.

I can confirm I was able to sign one in RS2

So walkons were improved - and I have a guy on my Maryland team who has me thinking about offering a schollie. Is this guy a high DI player? Am I too impressed by all this blue and green? Will he take a red shirt?

yes, too impressed. after growth being 62 ath, 65 spd, its low for any position. then to have def in the 70s and reb in the 50s... he just brings so little. he can't score. he is basically crummy at every aspect (scoring, def, reb, bh/pass), after growth! and substantially worse before... definitely don't waste a scholarship on him.

I needed that - in my mind, I was there - but my heart was so enthused by all that green!

I've tried to push the practice on the greens to see if they could get high enuf to project better

In prior forum posts, I think I’ve read that walk on potentials improve slightly once scholarship is offered. Can anyone corroborate that? I’ve also got a walkon I’ve been giving a few minutes to in high DI who isn’t horrible. Would finish OVR of about 765 at full potential.

eventual potentials don't change but the Work Ethic often jumps to 100.

does anybody know if you can redshirt a walk-on? Have one who's fantastic, a few greens still left. But after offering a scholarship, will the redshirt option pop-up? Would prefer to do that if possible, but don't want to hit the scholly offer before knowing for sure

I've done it.
Walk-on with tons of green/blue. Offered then redshirted what would have been sophomore season. Eventually made third-team All-A10 as junior and averaged 14.6 ppg with 2.9 assists as Sr.
