Let's take KANSAS CITY for example - a very good team over the next 10+ years!

You start with their 1977 team.
This includes ace SP Denis Leonard and some average to above average relief pitching, along with good seasons from George Brett, 3B, Al Cowens, OF, Amos Otis, OF, Hal McRae, OF/DH. Darrell Porter, C, and others.

You get two Kansas City players from 2005 - not a ton there- and two Kansas City players from 2015 - like excellent CF Lorenzo Cain and a number of ace relievers to choose from.

Remaining weaknesses in the infield and pitching, you address through the six round draft. The 1910 players you take are excellent (we only draft 16 hitters and 16 hitters from the whole season). You'll have a competitive club.

Late 70s and 80s the Royals keep George Brett's excellent career and add Willie Wilson, Dan Quisenberry, Bret Saberhagen, and many more!

And here's a taste of what to expect with Baltimore - also a very strong franchise in this era!

You start with their 1977 team.
You've got SP Jim Palmer, corner infielders Eddie Murray and Doug DeCinces, and Ken Singleton and Al Bumbry in the OF.

You get two Balitmore players from 2005 - your pick of either excellent middle infielder and an ace closer not a ton there- and two Balitmore players from 2015 - like Manny Machado or Chris Davis and a few good pitchers to choose from.

Remaining pitching (or any other) weaknesses, you address through the six round draft. The 1910 players you take are excellent (we only draft 16 hitters and 16 hitters from the whole season). You'll have a competitive club.

Late 70s and 80s the Orioles are very good. Cal Ripken joins you soon!

I think we now just need one. You could still take either Kansas City or Balitmore!
