Past Present Future - FULL Topic

Past Present Future is getting ready for our 10th season and has an opening for the MINNESOTA TWINS or the KANSAS CITY ROYALS in the American League. We only need one new owner - pick either of these AL West Franchises.

In this league, you get to advance with a real life franchise year to year, while making them much more competitive each season - adding 10 players from various teams and eras. It's much simpler than it sounds and quite a fun mix of consistency and novelty!

16 team league - 4 teams per division. 2 round post-season between the four division leaders.
NO to DH, WW, trading. NO salary cap, NO I/R or keepers lists.
25 players, 5/4 AAA of up to 9 players (although you won't likely need them)
Use the stadium your franchise did in real life, including stadiums move or are renamed.

1) Start with your full 1979 roster - up to 24 players (Present)
2) Add 2 players - 1 hitter, 1 pitcher - from the 2013 version of your franchise. (Future)
3) Add 2 more players - 1 hitter, 1 pitcher - from the 2003 version of your franchise. (Future)
4) Draft 6 players in the league-wide six round draft.
--You draft 2 players - 1 hitter, 1 pitcher - from the distant past, in this year from 1912. (Past)
--You draft 4 players - 2 hitters, 2 pitchers - from the 10 unused franchises in 1979. (Present)

FRANCHISES in the league
AL East: Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland
AL West: Chicago WS, Oakland, Houston, Minnesota or Kansas City
NL East: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York Mets, Montreal
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta, San Diego

Unused Franchises, whose players are available in the draft:
Angels, Yankees, Brewers, Rangers, Reds, Cardinals, Giants, Blue Jays, Mariners, Royals OR Twins (whichever isn't taken)

Draft order is from worst to first, based on real-life 1979 regular season records.

Every season, we advance by one year. Franchises and old-time players advance by one year. The 4 time traveling players from your franchise move back one year. (e.g. next year, you'll have your 1980 franchise, and the 2 players from 2012 and 2 from 2002.) And the 6-round draft will draw from all 1913 players, as well as unused franchise players from 1980)

You start with the 1979 Minnesota Twins.
They have nice seasons from SP Jerry Koosman, SP Geoff Zahn, and big inning RP Mike Marshall. On offense they have a very solid SS in Roy Smalley and decent other parts.

Bringing back four players from 2003 and 2013, you can grab really good seasons of C Joe Mauer, P Johann Santana, and others.
And your #9 pick in the draft will net you at least 4 all-star level players and a couple of other useful ones.

As your team advances into the 80s, you'll add a bunch of talent!
1981 - Kent Hrbek
1982 - Tom Brunansky, Gary Gaetti, Frank Viola
1984 - Kirby Puckett
1985 - Bert Blyleven
80s Twins will be fun to play with!

If you choose the 1979 Royals,
you get Darrell Porter, Frank White, George Brett, Willie Wilson, Amos Otis, and Hal McRae on offense.
Denis Leonard, Larry Gura, Dan Quisenberry and more for your pitching staff.
Lots of talent to bring back too!
And the Royals in the 80s look pretty great too!
