In all my years playing I've never quite figured out the sims logic for def replacements. Something always seems to not quite work how I want it to.
Here's how my def rep hierarchy screen/process currently looks:
C: Backup C subbed in / Starting C moves to bench
1B: Starting LF moves to 1B / Starting 1B moves to bench
2B: Backup 2B subbed in / Starting 2B moves to RF
3B: no changes
SS: no changes
LF: Starting CF moves to LF / Starting LF moves to 1B
CF: Backup CF subbed in / Starting CF moves to LF
RF: Starting 2B moves to RF / Starting RF moves to bench
Bolded positions are working as intended while the rest aren't.
It currently is only subbing-in/shifting my C, 2B, and RF while ignoring my 1B, LF, and CF subs/shifts. Those last three positions require players already in the game to shift to easier positions which might be where the hiccup is occuring? But then why is the system perfectly capable of allowing my 2B to shift to RF? I'm thinking maybe there is something wrong with my backup CF coming in because that starts the chain for the rest of the positions that aren't going through, but I've checked everything for him and can't figure out why he wouldn't be coming in.
My positional "Edit player settings" screen settings are set to allow everyone to be subbed out for a def rep. All my players' positional assignment settings (roster managment screen where click the little links for each position) are all set correctly so that the system knows what positions I want them to be eligible to play at. Bench players are on the active roster (it's the post season/post roster expansion)
Any guesses?
